Am I Funded?

Early access

The tools behind this are unfinished. Every screen says so, the numbers come from code still being written, and nothing there should be transacted on. What you are paying for is early access to that, and a say in what it becomes.

The free calculator tells you whether. Early access tells you why, prices a hedge you specify, and then keeps score.

1. Why

The diagnosis, in the funded ratio board and the risk room.

A ratio is a symptom. The paid tier names the cause: how much of your gap is a rate exposure, how much is inflation you are not protected against, and how much is exposure to a market fall.

That last one is sequence-of-returns risk, which is why a fall in your first retirement years does so much more damage than the same fall twenty years later. Each exposure is measured against the same one on your future spending, and each is shown as a shock to your ratio.

2. Price a hedge

The hedge workshop.

Set out a schedule of inflation-adjusted amounts, one a year, and see which years of your spending it covers. Bring the bonds you already own and it prices those too. You specify the schedule. The tool prices it and shows the coverage, and it never proposes amounts, a shape, or an instrument to buy.

3. Keep score

Persistence, and it comes third for a reason.

Your position reprices every time you open it, remembers where you stood, and shows you the move. Third rather than first, because memory is a convenience next to a form that takes a minute, and it earns its place once there is a plan worth keeping.

What you are buying

Not a finished product, and not a reliable one. If you want something dependable to make decisions with, wait. The free calculator is yours in the meantime either way.

You get

  • Every room as it exists today, and everything added while the prototype runs.
  • A plan that persists and reprices, with the diagnosis and the hedge pricing behind it.
  • A reply from a person when you write, at am-i-funded-support@googlegroups.com, and a real say in what gets built next.
  • Notice, in writing, if development stops.

You do not get

  • Numbers to transact on. The engine is still being written and the screens say so.
  • Advice. It measures and explains, and it never says what to buy, sell or hold.
  • Uptime, support hours, or a delivery date for anything.
  • A guarantee that any of it gets finished.

No product is named as a recommendation, no allocation is prescribed, and nothing in it is personal financial advice. If you want a plan, take the measurement to someone licensed to write one.

If this stops

Prototypes are abandoned more often than they are finished, and "access already bought stays open" means nothing if the site goes away. So, plainly: if development stops you will be told by email rather than left to notice.

If this gets finished

This purchase is one payment, no renewal. Whether the finished product is a subscription is genuinely undecided, and this page does not answer it yet.

How access works

Payment goes through Stripe. Give the Google address you want to sign in with, and it is added to the list by hand, usually within a day. You then sign in at amifunded.com/premium and the tools are open.

Granting access by hand is deliberate at this size. Signing in creates an account that stores your plan so it follows you between devices; what it holds, and how to delete it, are on the privacy page. Your financial figures are never asked for at checkout and never reach the site, and the free calculator keeps storing nothing at all.

The honest part

This is early, and the price reflects that rather than what the finished thing would be worth. If the tools turn out not to be worth paying for, that is the answer this is asking for, and access already bought stays open.

Early access is granted by hand, one address at a time, and it is not open right now. Nothing has been withdrawn from anyone who has it, and there is no list to join. When it opens again it will say so here.

The calculator is free and unlimited in the meantime, and the essays are the whole argument behind the paid tools.
