Privacy
Short version: the calculator does not store anything you enter. If you subscribe, your email address goes to the company that sends the emails. Visits are counted. Testers who sign in to the closed test can choose to have their plan stored. That is the whole list.
The calculator
Your figures are sent to the server, used to compute the result, and discarded when the request ends. They are not written to a database, a log file, or an analytics event, and they are not sent to anyone else. There is no account to create and nothing to sign in to.
Your inputs and your last result are saved on your own device so the page can restore them when you come back. That copy never leaves your browser, and the "clear my data" link on the result removes it.
Sharing a result
If you use the share or download button, the link that is created contains your funded ratio and its status, and nothing else. No age, no balance, no spending figure. That link is a normal web address, so it is recorded in the server's request logs like any other page view, and those logs are kept for 30 days. Nothing else about your calculation is in it. If you would rather that did not happen, do not use the share button; the result is yours either way.
The subscribe form sends your email address directly to Buttondown, who run the mailing list. It is used to email you about this site and nothing else, it is never sold or passed on, and every email carries an unsubscribe link. Ask and the address is deleted.
Your funded ratio is never attached to your email address. Both forms send the address and a tag saying which page it came from. The tag is a fixed word, not anything about you. Neither form sends your number, and there is a test that fails if that ever changes.
There are two things you can ask for. One is an email when there is a new essay. The other is an email when the paid tools open, which is the form under your result. They go to the same list, so one unsubscribe link covers both, and the tag is what tells them apart.
Analytics
Visits are counted with Plausible, which is cookieless and does not build a profile of you. It receives the page address, your IP address and your browser's user-agent string; it does not receive anything you typed. The server's own request logs record the same IP address for 30 days. No advertising or tracking cookies are set by this site. The only things stored on your device are the calculator values described above, your light or dark theme preference, and the opt-out below if you use it.
You can turn measurement off for a browser by visiting the opt-out page. It stores one cookie on that device, which is read to skip both the visit count and the calculation event. It holds nothing about you beyond the fact that you opted out.
Buying a report
Payment is handled by Stripe, and the figures for a report are entered on Stripe's payment page rather than here. They never pass through this site. Stripe holds the payment details under its own privacy policy.
Signing in (closed test)
The gated test area offers a Google sign-in. Signing in creates an account, and the plan you enter there is stored with it, so it follows you between devices. That means your ages, spending, pension, ladder and holdings amounts. This is the one place the site stores what you type, it applies only to the closed test, and using the shared test password instead stores nothing.
Your funded ratio is also kept as a dated history, one reading a day, so the trend on your dashboard survives a new device or a cleared browser. A reading holds the ratio and the totals behind it, never the plan itself, and it is deleted with the account like everything else.
If you give your name in the test area, it is stored with the plan so your tabs read the same on every device. It is optional, it is never sent to be measured, and clearing the field clears it from the account. It is the only thing stored here that identifies you.
The account itself holds no email address. It keeps a numeric identifier from Google, the times you signed in, the browser description each sign-in sent, and a record of the consent given by creating it. Sign-in is checked against an invited list each time; the address checked is not kept.
Deleting the account, on its own page, ends all sessions immediately. The stored rows are erased after 30 days, and database backups age out about seven days after that. A deleted account is not restored by signing in again.
Your choices
You can ask what is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. For the calculator the answer is that there is nothing to delete, because nothing was kept. For the mailing list, unsubscribing removes you and asking removes the record. For a closed-test account, the delete button on the account page is the same right, self-served.
